Veterinarians

Virginia Andrea Burtin

Veterinary Director

Virginia graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires in 2003, where she also obtained specializations in Small Animal Surgery (2013), Ultrasonography (2019), and University Teaching in Veterinary Sciences (2025). She complemented her training with traumatology courses in Madrid and a fellowship in Zurich. Throughout her career, she has worked in public and private hospitals, managed her own clinic for 15 years, and collaborated as a freelance surgeon. She was part of the surgical and traumatology team at DEQUIVET, specializing in derivatives for traumatology and neurosurgery.

After a period in Alicante, she joined UNAVETS as team leader. In her free time, she enjoys the sea and walking her dog.

Esther Serna

Veterinarian

Graduated from the University of León in 2009, she has worked ever since in small animal practice. She holds a postgraduate degree in diagnostic imaging and has completed several courses in feline and internal medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her family and dogs, as well as traveling.

Mar Fité Serna

Veterinarian

studied at UCH CEU and, after graduating, completed her practicum at AUNA in Paterna. She has also gained experience through internships in several veterinary clinics, always driven by the belief that learning in this profession never truly ends.

Her main areas of interest include ethology, nutrition, and internal medicine, among others.

Elvira Borisova

Veterinarian

Graduated in veterinary medicine in Bulgaria (Trakia University - Stara Zagora) in 2020. She started working immediately after graduation in a small animal clinic. She is interested in internal medicine and parasitology. She likes Spain and wants to develop here as a veterinarian. In her free time she likes to study, go out with her friends and spend time with her family. Maya is her dog and she loves spending time with her.

Maypú Águila Luna

Veterinary Assistant

Eduardo is a vocational animal lover. He studied Biological Sciences at the University of Granada (1994-1999), completing the first cycle and also undertaking several courses in botany, herpetology, ornithology and entomology, etc.

For a considerable time, he worked as an environmental guide in the province of Granada. In 2003, he moved into the pet sector, taking courses in canine and feline hairdressing and beauty, working in this area until 2006, when he joined the San Francisco de Asís Veterinary Clinic. Since then he has worked in various areas of the clinic. Today he works mainly in reception and customer service.

Isabel Escrivá Aparisi

Veterinary Assistant

In 2008, her love for animals led her to study and train as a veterinary technical assistant CIM Academy in Valencia. However, on completion of her studies, she worked in sales and customer services in other sectors until 2022, when she decided on a change of career direction

 She was fortunate to meet Pepe, the clinic manager, an opportunity that has enabled her to work in the field she truly enjoys, and where she learns more and more each day.

Raquel Aranda Mira

Veterinary Assistant

She qualified as a veterinary technical assistant from the CIM Academy in Alicante. After 19 years working as an operating theatre assistant in a veterinary clinic in Alcoy, Alicante, she decided to move to the Gandía area, where she has been living for the last four years. In July 2022, she joined the Gat i Gos team to continue with her professional vocation and training in the sector.
